Designing a complete product
Astri 01 was developed as a cohesive product from the ground up, with every touchpoint carefully considered to create a consistent player experience. Pantograf designed the visual identity, naming, tone of voice, and narrative, establishing a distinctive world in which players embark on a mission to discover a new home for humanity beyond Earth. This foundation informed every design decision, from the packaging and printed materials to the smallest game components.

Making complexity intuitive
At its heart, Astri 01 is an exercise in clear communication. The challenge was to create a strategic game that rewards logical thinking while remaining accessible to players of all ages. Through careful editorial design, typography, iconography, and information hierarchy, complex mechanics become intuitive without sacrificing depth. Along the way, players naturally develop an understanding of the Solar System through play rather than instruction, demonstrating how thoughtful design can make learning feel effortless. Every component, including the playing boards, cards, tokens, rulebook, and reference guides, forms part of a single visual system, complemented by bespoke vector illustrations and planetary textures.

From concept to production
From early prototypes through to manufacture, Pantograf guided the project towards a production-ready release. All artwork was prepared for print, manufacturing was sourced within Europe, and every component was developed with the realities of small-batch production in mind. The packaging balances practicality with storytelling, presenting the game as a collection of confidential mission documents that draw players into its post-apocalyptic narrative before the first card is played. The result is a product that demonstrates how branding, editorial design, product development, and print production can come together to create an experience that begins long before gameplay itself.
